This 997 Carrera S has been impeccably maintained by its last owner since he purchased it in 2015. Recently subject to some major recommissioning and servicing the car is ready to be used and enjoyed without fear of major bills looming. The car is special given its dark blue interior and combined with the Arctic Silver exterior, it suits the car perfectly. The manual gearbox finishes it off to provide the ultimate driving experience from Porsches most popular sports car.

In the past 200 miles and 14 months the car has been treated to a new clutch with IMS bearing upgrade kit and RMOS (Rear Main Oil Seal replacement), bore scoping and over-rev report carried out with expected good results, 4 new tyres, coolant header tank, and replaced exhaust bolts which had corroded, all in October 2023. Prior to this the car had a major service with new spark plugs, new drive belt, new tandem pump, fuel and oil filters and oil change with Porsche approved Mobil 1 0W-40 oil.

Model History:

The Porsche 911 997.1 generation was produced from 2004 to 2008 and represented a significant evolution of the 911 model. It introduced a number of new design elements, including a completely redesigned front end, revised headlights, and new tail lights. The 997.1 also featured a new interior, with a redesigned dashboard and centre console.

Exterior Condition:

The car comes in this lovely shade of Artic Silver, which pairs well with the silver alloy wheels. The car comes with a sunroof. The car's paint condition features only minor scratches and chips in the paintwork as expected but is overall in good condition.

Interior Condition:

The car's hard-wearing dark blue leather interior looks great and has held its condition despite the mileage.

Engine:

The 3.8 litre naturally aspirated flat 6 is a joy to use making all the right Porsche noises with around 350 bhp, and weighing around 1420kg this is more than enough power to get the car down the road and up to 186 mph if allowed. The engine revs to 8,400rpm and flat 6 sounds is something truly special.

Chassis:

The unibody chassis was a development of the 996, made to Porsche's high standards, it offers great chassis stiffness giving the 997 platform its direct character.

Drivetrain:

With the engine in the rear and the 6-speed gearbox in front of the rear axle the gearbox and axle and encased in the same unit with the power being sent via a limited-slip differential, which gives the car a playful nature to its drive.

Steering:

The steering has great communication and is very intuitive giving the driver great confidence to place the car on the road.

Brakes:

The ventilated discs brakes are 330mm front and rear well balanced with the rear-engined bias. The brakes are easy to modulate and give good performance to the car's stopping power.
